Overview
Our Coating Rubber Keypad is also referred to as the Color Coating Keyboard or Color-Painted Silicone Button. This innovative technology allows for the creation of multi-color keypads by applying various color inks onto a transparent elastomer keypad. The result is a visually striking and highly functional product. To enhance functionality and visibility, the keypads are laser-etched with legends and graphics, enabling effective backlighting. This method is particularly suitable for uneven surfaces, overcoming the limitations of traditional silkscreen printing. By applying a color coating to these surfaces and laser-etching symbols onto the buttons, we achieve both aesthetic appeal and tactile functionality.

Rubber Keypads Color Coating Process
- Color Layer Application: We start by spraying the desired color onto the silicone keypad surface. For example, for a rubber keyboard with a black background and white symbols, we begin by applying a white color layer.
- Concealing Base Layer: To create a contrasting background, a layer of black coating is applied to conceal the white base, ensuring a sharp contrast between the background and symbols.
- Laser Etching for Clarity: Laser etching is employed to reveal the white symbols clearly. This process guarantees precision and clarity in the symbols, enhancing visibility and functionality.
- Preventing Color Mixing: For rubber keypads featuring multi-colored buttons, we use additional button key caps strategically. These key caps shield unnecessary buttons, ensuring that the color coating is only applied to the intended areas. This approach effectively prevents unwanted color overlap and maintains the integrity of each button’s color.
- Vibrant and High-Quality End Product: After the coating process, removing these key caps reveals rubber buttons that retain their original, vibrant colors. This meticulous process ensures a high-quality, visually appealing end product that meets our stringent quality standards.
